GAIN Welcomes Treasury Review into Career Progression and Talent Retention in Financial Services
GAIN (Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity) welcomes the Treasury’s announcement of a new review, to be led by Progress Together, examining the challenges affecting career progression and talent retention across the UK financial services sector.
Kathryn Stringer, CEO of GAIN, commented:
“We warmly welcome this research and the Government’s recognition that more needs to be done to understand why talented people face barriers to career progression or leave the financial services industry altogether."
“GAIN is an industry-owned and led neurodiversity community hub, bringing together 34 corporate members and engaging with up to 80,000 employees across the sector. Through this network, we see first-hand the importance of recognising neurodiversity as part of the wider conversation about workforce inclusion, skills development and career progression."
“Socio-economic background, geography and neurodivergence can create overlapping challenges that influence access to opportunities, workplace experiences and career outcomes. Understanding these intersections will be essential to developing solutions that work for everyone."
“We look forward to the findings of this important research and welcome the opportunity to share insights from our neurodivergent community and corporate members to help inform practical, evidence-based recommendations."
“By working collaboratively across government, industry and specialist organisations, we have an opportunity to remove unnecessary barriers, retain valuable skills and talent, and build a more inclusive, innovative and competitive financial services sector.”
